At CeBIT ‘94, PROJECTMT, a St Petersburg company, was marketing its Stylus “family of machine translation system.” PROJECTcurrently offers English” German” Italian” and French,to, Russian and Russian,to,English and Russian’to, German language pairs. While there may be underlying similarities between Stylus and SILOD, PROJECToffers a slick, looking Windows version, as well as a DOS version, and a “dictionary update utility,” the lack of which is a serious shortcoming with SILOD.
At the Hannover fair, PROJECTwas offering Stylus for US$299 per direction for the DOS version and US$339 for the Windows version. Bidirectional packages cost respectively US$399 and US$439. PROJECTalso offers an “aerospace industry” version for US$799 (both directions). Stylus is also copy-protected.
